US airline Spirit announced that starting March 6, it will operate a daily nonstop flight from Juan Santamaría Airport in Costa Rica to Houston.
The flight will land at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas.
The route will leave Costa Rica at 11:40am and arrive in Houston at 4:35pm. For return trips, the first flight out of Houston will depart at 8:00am.

To mark the launch of the Houston route, Spirit said it will offer fares starting at $131 each way for travel between March 6 and May 22, 2024.
Keep in mind that to get this fare, you have to book directly on the airline’s website.
This is Spirit’s third nonstop route from Juan Santamaría Airport, joining Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.
“We thank our partners for their support for our growth in Costa Rica,” said John Kirby, Spirit’s vice president of network planning.
Information from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute shows that Houston is one of the 10 US cities that are home to the “best prospects” for visiting Costa Rica.
The institute also reported that Texas has more than 2 million travelers interested in visiting Costa Rica.
