Starting October 1, 2026, Southwest will launch a direct flight from Juan Santamaría International Airport to Las Vegas Airport in the United States.
Keep in mind that the flight will run daily, according to information confirmed by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute.
The flight takes 7 hours, and it’s expected to increase the flow of travelers in both directions.

Las Vegas is one of Costa Rica’s markets of interest, and Tourism Minister William Rodríguez sees it as a strategic connection.
“This confirmation reinforces our strategy of diversifying and expanding connectivity with new cities in the United States,” he explained.
A search on Southwest’s official website shows that round-trip fares to the city run around $970.
Going by the most recent tourism visitor figures from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT), the US remains the top source of tourists to Costa Rica.
In 2025, about 1.6 million US travelers arrived by air.
According to data from Aeris, the concessionaire that manages Juan Santamaría International Airport, Southwest has carried more than 700,000 travelers between Costa Rica and the US over the past 10 years.
