Costa Rica Will Get a Nonstop Flight to Brazil Starting in November 2024

Starting November 12, 2024, Costa Rica will have a nonstop flight to São Paulo, Brazil, from Juan Santamaría International Airport.

Brazilian airline GOL will launch the route between the two countries, flying on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

The flight will leave Costa Rica at 8:40 p.m. and arrive in São Paulo at 7:10 a.m. the next day.

This is the first time a flight has operated from Costa Rica to Brazil, and it will have room for 176 passengers.

“The route not only promotes new business and tourism opportunities, it also strengthens our cultural and economic ties with Brazil,” said Ricardo Hernández, executive director of AERIS.

All flights will be operated with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, the most sustainable plane in GOL’s fleet.

If you’re from Costa Rica, you don’t need a visa to go to Brazil, but you do need a yellow fever vaccination under Ministry of Health rules.

In 2023, 122,726 tourists from South America visited Costa Rica. Brazil was the third most important market from the southern part of the continent, with a total of 21,249 travelers, 19,788 of whom arrived by air.
