These new Avianca routes to Miami and San Juan aim to give Costa Rica’s main airport better connections to more destinations.

That adds up to 3,600 new seats for travelers flying out of Costa Rica.

A Google Flights search shows the average price on the San Juan route is $189 and on the Miami route $220, both round trip with just a backpack.

William Rodríguez, Costa Rica’s tourism minister, stressed the importance of these new Avianca flights to San Juan and Miami.

“These new direct routes strengthen Costa Rica’s connections to the Caribbean and the United States, and they boost tourist arrivals.”

The airline said tickets are already on sale through its official website, as well as at its physical points of sale.
